“Why should I shop with R H Davey?”

Because we understand welding and metalworking on a deeply technical level. We have been established for over 35 years and can be relied upon to specify the right pathway to get your job done as painlessly as possible. The heads of our technical sales team are not salesmen who weld, they are welders who sell. Our technical department boasts some of the best support to local industry and we have a reputation as the people to talk to if you need advice on the processes, consumables and equipment which are specific to your job. We are constantly investing in our business, striving to improve ourselves in order to offer the best prices, quality and customer service.

“Can I have a credit account?”

Yes, provided that you clear our credit check, provide references and observe the terms of your credit agreement. We reserve the right to suspend credit accounts for any customers who do not observe their payment terms. “Can I buy capital plant on finance?”

Unfortunately, we do not currently offer finance on capital plant purchases. This is something we are exploring and hope to offer in the future. In the meantime however, we offer a pro-forma payment discount if your machine order is settled in full up front. Alternatively, provided you have a credit account, we can split the payment into three: 1/3 on order, 1/3 on delivery, and 1/3 on your standard invoice terms. This applies to any machine purchases over £750 + VAT.

“Are you open at the weekends?”

We do not officially open on Saturdays, however we can arrange to open the shop at the weekend with a prior appointment. If you would like to request out of hours service then please contact us during our normal opening hours; Mon-Fri 8am-5pm to arrange or call us on one of our out of hours phone numbers listed ‘here’. Bank holiday or weekend servicing may incur a call out charge.

“Do you charge for delivery?”

Yes, depending on the value or size of your order. Any orders which are below £50 + VAT will incur a minimum delivery charge of £4.95 + VAT. This does not apply to backorders or consignment stock customers. Orders that go above standard postage size, weight thresholds or require pallet delivery will be priced per order.

“What is consignment stock and can I have it?”

Consignment stock is provided for customers using a high volume of consumable items in order to cut down on frequently having to order and it protects you from running low on the items you rely on the most. We also offer significant savings to customers who choose to do business this way. To begin using consignment stock, one of our sales representatives will visit your site to consult with you about the products you require, work out the amounts which you will need in your stock and provide an initial stock transfer to your premises. We then visit on at least a monthly basis, count what you have used, invoice you for what you have used and then transfer more stock into your premises to replenish. This has proved extremely successful in maximising efficiency for buyers and taking the headache out of stock management. In order to qualify for consignment stock, you need to be a credit account customer and commit to taking £500 + VAT in initial stock.
