6.4 X 305MM (1/4" X 12") GOUGING CARBONS - PACK 100

Gouging carbons for air carbon arc gouging, used with a gouging torch and compressed air supply. The arc melts the metal and a jet of compressed air blows it clear, giving you a quick, controlled way to remove metal without grinding.

Common uses:

• Back-gouging welds before welding the reverse side
• Removing defective welds and cracks for repair
• Preparing weld grooves and bevels
• Cutting out old welds, rivets and fixings
• Removing hardfacing and excess metal from castings

Choose the diameter to suit the job. Smaller carbons give a narrower, more precise groove at lower current. Larger carbons remove more metal per pass and need a higher-output power source.
